Looking At Her, You’d Never Guess This Little Girl Suffers From A Serious Medical Condition

To see her, you’d never think anything was wrong. She is such a beautiful and vibrant child. Her attitude and outlook are nothing but bright and she practically shimmers when she smiles. But behind the innocent face and cheerful disposition, Virsaviya Borun-Goncharova, also known as “Bathsheba,” is in a life or death struggle with a severe physical condition.

The child suffers from something called Pantalogy of Cantrell, which means she was born with her heart on the outside of her chest. Her intestines were also outside of her torso. She has no abdominal muscles or diaphragm. Her mother, Dari Borun, is a recent immigrant from Russia, is trying to make sense of what’s going on with her baby. As a single mom, the primary concern is expense.

 the process of making things right will be long and painful. For Virsaviya, she is ready for the challenge. She is a little warrior and has kept a cheery disposition throughout the entire ordeal.

 

 Her mother is constantly touching her heart, letting the girl know how much she loves her. While it’s disconcerting to look at, it’s also a sign of the significant advances medicine has made. Decades ago there’d be no guarantee that Virsaviya would survive such an ordeal. Now, with a fundraiser in place and the future looking positive, this kid appears well on the way to normalcy – even though she was already there to the untrained eye.
