Prince Harry was on the brink of tears after meeting U.S. Marine Kirstie Ennis at Buckingham Palace.
Kirstie, 24, was injured in an accident in 2012 involving a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. She was set to have her leg amputated this summer, but opted to hold off on the surgery in order to do a charity walk first. After completing a 1,000-mile marathon trek, she did something that both stunned onlookers. She attempted to give the dog tag of her fallen colleague to Prince Harry, 31. He, too is a veteran and understands the significance of Kirstie's kind gesture.
